Resting In Oneness

Resting in Oneness - what does that mean exactly?

Well, I had no idea what that meant - until I became utterly exhausted trying to figure out every nook and cranny of my life - and was finally willing to learn something new: to rest in the awareness that God is all there is.

 That in short:

There is only one power, one presence and one life - there's nothing to oppose it and nothing for it to oppose.  It just IS, and it is only Good.

Now I wasn't raised believing that, of course. Most of us weren't.

I was raised to believe in two powers - a power of good and a power of evil.  If something bad happened to me, I would pray to God (the God out there somewhere) to help me overcome the bad, and to please heal whatever dis-ease I was experiencing.  It appeared that sometimes God would, and sometimes God wouldn't, depending on how "perfect" and deserving I was on that day.

Sound familiar?

What a powerful healing it was for me to understand that God doesn't fix problems and God doesn't heal anything because God doesn't even see problems.  That's a human thing. God only knows wholeness, harmony, peace, love, joy and abundance.  So if God doesn't know anything but itself, it's because there is nothing else to know.

Yet, we do experience the appearance of evil, negativity and struggle because we have surrendered to the cultural suggestion that our problems are real.   And our experience backs that up.

But through prayer, meditation, forgiveness and having the embodiment of Oneness, the hardships we are experiencing begin to dissolve.  As we embody the truth of Oneness to the best of our ability, we can start to trust that.  We cease struggling and everything begins to make sense. Opportunities we didn't see before are revealed to us. Everything starts to find its proper place.

And that's a Heaven all of us can relate to...
