Ester has completed two world tours with Rod Stewart and Bette Midler, appearing on Oprah, The Today Show, Ellen and many others. But it was not always so...

"There was a ten year period in my life when I didn't sing. I wouldn't even hum in the shower. I didn't recognize myself. I was lost. Getting sober, the 12 steps, prayer, meditation, forgiveness - gave me back my life and my voice."

I remember as a kid, escaping into fantasy about being on stage singing to thousands of people. I'd get my broomstick pretending it was a micraphone and sing to the trees in the backyard (the trees were my fans). Little did I know that I was using the power of visualization, creating my life as it is today. But there was a time between then and now when the vision appeared to be lost in a haze of drugs, alcohol, teenage motherhood and unhealthy relationships. How good it is to know that the vision wasn't lost, it was simply on hold while I experienced all the setbacks and pain that made me fertile soil for transformation. My journey prepared me for my ministry as a motivational speaker, singer-songwriter and workshop facilitator, but mostly it created a space in my heart of deep compassion and understanding for others.

I received a call one day after being sober for 10 years from the tour manager for Bette Midler asking me to meet with her for a personal audition. I fell on the floor, unbelieving how this miracle could have happened to me. After working with Bette for a week, she said "pack your bags, we're on Oprah tomorrow". So, those gigs with the broom in my backyard paid off. I'm humbled and awed by the creative activity of the Universe as I look back on all the TV appearances, Oprah, Ellen, The Tonight Show, The View, The Today Show, Michael Jackson's United We Stand Concert, and many more. I've had the pleasure of singing with Barbara Streisand, Faith Hill, Beyonce, Al Green, Carol King and so many other fine artists. It started with a vision, a journey that sometimes felt like I was doomed to darkness. But God was there all the time, preparing me for what was to come.
